Listening past the destination
I'm Jennifer Fichtner, Luxury Travel Designer at Astrum Voyages in the Dallas area, an ASTA Verified Travel Advisor designing journeys since 2014. Astrum Voyages offers thoughtfully designed luxury journeys for travelers with a vision, on land, at sea, or both.
Someone once came to me certain they wanted the Amalfi Coast. But as they described their perfect day (lingering over lunch, wandering a seaside town without the crowds, slowing down for once), I heard something different. We designed a journey along Croatia's Dalmatian Coast instead, and it was exactly what they'd been longing for.
That's what I do. I listen past the destination to what you're really hoping to feel, and then I thoughtfully design every piece around it.
What I take care of, so you don't have to
For more than a decade, I've been bringing my clients' visions to life: couples, families, and friends traveling together, often for life's meaningful moments: anniversaries, weddings, milestone birthdays, and the places you've been quietly imagining for years.
By the time you arrive, the decisions that make a trip feel effortless have already been made: which room catches the morning light, which guide brings history to life, how far the walk is after dinner, and what we'll do if the weather turns. You'll simply feel taken care of.
On land, at sea, or both
My heart belongs to slow, immersive travel: the countryside over the city, the long lunch over the packed itinerary. I design custom journeys across Europe, Japan, South Africa, Costa Rica, Iceland, Scotland, Ireland, and South America, and I'm equally at home planning river cruises, small-ship luxury sailings, and expeditions. Some of my favorite journeys blend both, like exploring Japan by land and then by luxury yacht.
Where my own heart is
Some of my most treasured travel memories have nothing to do with a famous sight.
They're wandering Croatia's coast with my partner and daughter. And they're a river cruise with four generations of my family on board, watching my grandmother and my daughter spend unhurried days together, sharing stories as the shoreline drifted past.
That's when I understood what travel really gives us: time together, in places that help us notice it.
My favorite place in the world? Wherever my family is, exploring something new together. It's what I hope to create for you.
